I am the Acting Head of Department of Environment and Climate Change under School of Environment and Climate Change (SECC) at PNG UNRE since February 2022. My appointment to this position requires the oversight of teaching, learning and research of the university to ensure that the academic and administrative processes of the department and school are aligned for the achievement of the University’s Vision, Mission, and goals. PNGUNRE is a growing university that equips students to understand the impacts, adaptation, and mitigation of climate change in PNG and other Pacific Island Countries (PICs). Under the current SECC, we also embarking on strengthening the research capacity for our students and staff as well as building genuine, relevant, and sustainable collaboration with partners within and abroad.
Skills
Experienced with a demonstrated history of working in the field of forestry and natural resource management. Having skills and knowledge in Forest Plantations, Entomology, Biological Research, Biostatistics, GIS Mapping, Land use Management Planning, Forest Ecology, Forest Management, Community Development, Environmental & Social Impact Assessments, Biodiversity Conservation and Assessments, Data Management and Analysis, Scientific Reporting and Writing.
