Jochen Depestele is joined ILVO in 2004 as research scientist, and iss involved in fishing gear research, environmental impact of fishing activities and ecosystem effects of fishing (fate of discards, food webs, etc). Jochen Depestele participates in fishing gear experiments at sea (selectivity trials, acute fishing effects), in the activities of the ICES Working Group on Fishing Technology and Fish Behaviour (WGFTFB) and of the ICES Working Group on ECOsystem effects of fishing (WGECO).
