Activities

Seismic Laboratory SeisLab was founded in 2005 in order to collect, process and interpret multichannel seismic, deep tow side scan sonar / chirp subbottom profiler and multibeam bathymetry data onboard of our Research Vessel "R/V K.Piri Reis" for the extend of the Gas Hydrate research project supported by Turkish Prime Ministry - State of Planning Organisation.

The Institute of Marine Sciences and Technology (IMST) have two main departments as Marine Science and Marine Technology which include a total of 8 different programs that run for research and education.

There are currently 55 scientists and 33 administrative staff working at IMST that conducts multi-disciplinary studies with 7 research laboratories and research vessels.
