Activities
Design, develop, coordinate, execute and control national programs for fisheries and ocean research.
Identify and define problems whose resolution requires action of research and training in the science of the sea and adjacent coastal areas.
Promote all technologies and all the features that contribute to development through the enhancement of the aquatic environment.
Centralise data, promote the exchange, publication and dissemination of fisheries and ocean research and make recommendations for these purposes.
Provide information and popularisation of science and technology in different social, cultural and professional circles concerned.
Participate in the development and implementation of regional and international fisheries and ocean research consistent with national development objectives.
Realise research, production, expertise or advice in its fields of competence for the benefit of external public or private partners.
