Activities
At Radboud University Nijmegen the Centre for Sustainable Management of Resources is an education and research department with a difference. It is a department for innovative academic research that bridges the gap between the traditional disciplines.
Its offices and facilities are at the Faculty of Science. The department is part of the faculty’s Institute for Science, Innovation and Society.
The high standards of Radboud University Nijmegen postgraduate schools and research institutes are acknowledged nationally and internationally, especially in the fields of cognition research and information technology, chemistry, physics, and research into language behaviour.
Our department adds to this list education and research in the fields of:
* trans-national river and water management
* sustainable development and gender issues
* environmental studies linking different disciplines.
Our educational programmes are regularly reviewed and adapted to the latest developments in science and society.
In our educational methods we follow the Student Activating Education model, and we constantly seek to combine innovative scientific research with ethical, cultural and social education.
In addition to courses on sustainability issues we offer a two year international Masters degree course in Transnational ecosystem-based Water Management.
The course is entirely in English and jointly organised with Universität Duisburg-Essen (Germany).
