Development of the Deep Ocean Benthic Sampler (DOBS) It is the first uncontaminated undisturbed benthic boundary layer sediment core sampler which maintains the native sampled pressure and temperature. Used for mRNA sampling and marine microbial ecology. In addition the device can be used as a deep water ocean observatory platform.
