Activities

Ecology of seagrass meadows (Zostera marina, Ruppia maritima) in the Baltic Sea area. Research include aerial photography of seagrass distribution, spatial and temporal variation in zoobenthos associated to seagrass (leaf fauna and sediment fauna). Studies at both species and community level include experimental field and lab studies dealing with effects of habitat complexity. Other activities include latitudinal comparisons of seagrass ecosystem function (grazing, habitat choice) and structure in brackish and marine areas, fish community structure, leaf production and population genetics of Zostera marina and amphipod (Corophium volutator) population dynamics
