Currently I am working as Aquaculture Officer in FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Department in Rome. An Italian national with a background in fisheries science, with specialization in small-scale fisheries and freshwater aquaculture, I have more than fifteen years of experience with FAO in aquaculture information production and dissemination through the Internet and other media. I regularly provide technical assistance to field projects on freshwater aquaculture particularly, small-scale integrated aquaculture, and aquaculture development in arid lands, in a number of countries in Africa and the Caribbean. I provide technical support to FAO Regional Fishery Bodies through the strengthening of aquaculture networks and aquaculture information systems. Valerio an enthusiastic professional is fluent in English and French.
