Dr.
Bintou Dibba is an Environmental Biologist and Climate Vulnerability Researcher
with over 20 years of experience in environmental management and extensive
expertise in climate adaptation, policy development, and gender-responsive
climate action. She serves as Coordinator of the National Climate Action Center
(NCAC) at the University of The Gambia, where she leads initiatives on capacity
building, applied research, and multi-stakeholder coordination for inclusive
climate action. She has played a key role in establishing NCAC as a national
platform for climate knowledge and policy support, promoting the integration of
gender and social inclusion in climate governance. As a lecturer, she
contributes to teaching, research supervision, and curriculum development,
including leading the design of a Diploma in Climate Action with a specialised
module on Gender, Technology, and Social Inclusion. Dr. Dibba holds a PhD in
Climate Change and Education and has expertise in ecosystem-based adaptation,
climate governance, and gender-responsive climate finance. She has contributed
to national and international initiatives integrating climate risk and gender
into policy and planning, including work on loss and damage, landscape
restoration, and inclusive resilience building. Her work focuses on advancing
gender-responsive climate solutions, strengthening inclusive adaptation
planning, and promoting equitable access to climate finance and technologies,
with a strong emphasis on empowering women and vulnerable groups.
