Activities
The environment has an increasing influence on all components of the ocean system. Changes in environmental parameters affect the planet's biological and ecological systems, particularly those of the Ocean. Biological changes attributed to the environment (climate change) affect phytoplankton, zooplankton, fish and modify the dominance of many species as well as their structure, functioning and diversity of ecosystems. Changes are also perceived in the biogeography and phenology of species and have involved, in some regions, abrupt ecosystem changes, also known as regime changes. Our research activities include collecting acoustic data, ADCP, Temperature, Chlorophyll, Salinity, Pressure, etc. on the Senegalese continental shelf in order to study the spatial and temporal distribution of zooplankton in relation to the environment.
