Execution of research project titled “Strategic Basin Assessment (Pakistan)” under collaboration with CSIRO Australia. Project involves generation of long term historical climate trends and downscaled climate change scenarios at 25km and 50km spatial resolution (RCP4.5 & RCP8.5) for the entire catchment of Indus river system.
Execution of research project titled “Downscaled Climate Projections for the Upper Indus Basin using the CMIP5 GCM data sets for RCP 8.5 and 4.5 scenarios” as part of DFID core project “Bridging the Cryosphere-Hydrosphere-Atmosphere Knowledge Gaps in the Indus River Basin”.
Generated CMIP5 downscaled Climate Change scenarios and agro-climatic analysis in project titled “Assessing climatic vulnerability and projecting crop productivity using integrated climate, crop and economic modeling techniques” as part of Agricultural Model Intercomparison and Improvement Project (AgMIP). The Agricultural Model Intercomparison and Improvement Project (AgMIP) is a major international effort linking the climate, crop, and economic modeling communities with cutting-edge information technology to produce improved crop and economic models and the next generation of climate impact projections for the agricultural sector.
Participated in CORDEX (COordinated Regional climate Downscaling Experiment) South Asia using Rossby Centre regional atmospheric model RCA4.
Executed research project titled “Generation of High resolution climate change scenarios of Temperature and Precipitation using PRECIS and RegCM4 at 50km and 25km resolution for Pakistan”. The results of the experiments have been disseminated to local policy makers for adaptations as well as published in local and peer reviewed journals.
