Activities

I study the interactions among nutrients, phytoplankton, zooplankton, and planktivorous fish in aquaculture ponds and freshwater lakes. Recently, this has involved additional work on the impact of nonindigenous species, particularly the zebra mussel (Dreissena spp.). Algal work has examined the effect of nutrient changes on algal composition, including the stimulation of toxic Cyanobacteria, especially Microcystis spp.
