Huge background in the veterinary sector of the Ministry of Agriculture as a civil servant for over 19 years. Also, I have a lot of experience in strategic conditions for the control and eradication of animal diseases, development of new laboratories for the control of veterinary drug residues in live animals and food of animal origin, quality assurance and quality control by participating as a permanent member in EU Committees for veterinary legislation and evaluation of methods of analysis. In addition, I have working experience in several European Union countries such as United Kingdom, Belgium, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Denmark, Bulgaria and Romania. During the following 21 years I have been responsible coordinator on several research and developing projects of the National Agricultural Research Foundation (NAGREF) concerning the establishment of new research and control laboratories towards accreditation according to EN 45001 standard (now ISO 17025) as well as on research projects on aquaculture subjects on intense fish farming species. During the last years until today I have been actively presented a lot of proposals for Institution Building Programmes in several countries to join EU and have been appointed as a Pre Accession Advisor (PAA) and Resident Twinning Advisor (RTA) for 2 years in two Institution Building Veterinary project in Bulgaria (BG2001/IB/AG-03 and BG2002/IB/AG-03). In addition, I have been Leading Expert in the Twinning Project for Romania in collaboration with The Netherlands (RO2002/ΙΒ/ΑG-03) as a responsible for the training programme of Romanian veterinarians. In 2007, I was the top expert in the field of QA/QC in the Twinning Light project of Czech Republic CZ05/IB/AG-TL as well as in other candidate countries. Also, a lot of experience in many TAIEX training programmes on food hygiene and safety in several countries such as Latvia, Turkey, Algeria, Israel, Albania, Slovenia etc.
