Participation to EU projets: EUROCORE (european sediment database www.eu-seased.net/eurocore/project_info.htm); BIGSETS (Sources of Earthquake and Tsunami in SW. Iberia); (COSTA (Continental slope stability); EURODELTA (natural and anthropogenic processes affecting Mediterranean prodeltas); EUROSTRATAFORM (source-to-sink sediment transport). Participation to italian projects: SINAPSI (Seasonal INterannual and decAdal variability of the atmosPhere, oceanS and related marine ecosystems); and Marine Geological Mapping (ISPRA-APAT Adriatic basin geological maps 1:250000 and 1:50000 scale). Participation to 20 campaigns at sea in the Mediterranean Sea, and Atlantic Ocean. P.I. in 11 research projects.

Sedimentology, high-resolution seismic stratigraphy, sedimentary processes and seafloor characterisation of siliciclastic continental margins. Since 1992 my research activity focussed on the study of sedimentary successions on continental shelves and slopes with emphasis on reconstruction of processes of sediment accumulation and deformation; reconstruction of late Quaternary sea level change; coastal studies using historical floods evidences in prodelta environment.; research of sand resources on continental shelf.
