Activities
I have initiated a programme to study biodiversity of fish parasites of New Caledonia (South Pacific), including parasitic flatworms (monogeneans, cestodes and digeneans) and also other parasites (nematodes, copepods, isopods), on the basis of international collaborations. The study of biodiversity has included the identification of already known species of parasites and description of new taxa, to eventually provide the basis for a numerical evaluation of parasite diversity in coral reef fish.
Other research interests include: molecular phylogeny of monogeneans and ultrastructure of spermatozoa of parasitic Platyhelminthes.
Skills
Systematics of fish parasites, especially monogeneans, from coral reef fish;
Systematics of Pseudorhabdosynochus (Monogenea, Diplectanidae);
Systematics of Huffmanela (Nematoda, Trichosomoididae);
