The Ad Hoc meeting was convened by the GEBICH co-chairs (Drs Hernan Garcia and Sergey Konovalov) to introduce new GE-BICH members, to review the current status of the planned activities from the IODE-GE-BICH-V work plan, and to identify new issues that might need the attention of GE-BICH and IODE-XXII. The workshop participants developed a proposal describing a two-level quality flag scheme (QF) to facilitate the exchange and integration of multi-disciplinary oceanographic and marine meteorological data. The scheme is intended for individual researchers, research groups or oceanographic/marine meteorological data centres who manage and/or exchange oceanographic/marine meteorological data in a standard way. It may also serve as a quality flag scheme for new projects and programmes. The proposal should be submitted to ODS. In addition, the workshop reviewed a minimum set of quality control tests and procedures. 2.
