Further the check in briefing for the ITST Coordinator provides a chance for the host government to raise relevant issues of concern it has and the overall ITST Coordinator to fully establish the trust of the host government and solve any issues the host government has. Once the ‘base camp’ location for the ITST has been identified and coordinated to all participating team members, on arrival, all ITST participants should be provided with the following ‘Check-in’ briefing information: 1 - Check-in briefing with local host / ITST-National Coordination Team ITST members should be provided with details about the host country points of contact for the ITST and provided with information about the National Coordination Team roles. 2 - Logistic and generalities ITST members should be provided with a list of basic details/information on broad logistics (e.g., where to change money; appropriate dress in public; obtaining extra food supplies; local telephone services and so on – i.e., how to survive in the host country region). These basics will be need to supplemented at the first overall team briefing meeting once all ITST participants have arrived and before field survey work commences. 3 - Receive recent results, advice, and ancillary information, including recommendations on survey sites such as along rivers or other impacted areas The overall ITST Team Coordinator/Leader is responsible for liaising with relevant host government contact points and the National Coordination Team to seek the latest advice about conditions in the field that could affect survey work and team safety and performance. This update should occur prior to the first meeting of the ITST before field survey work starts. Further, such updates should occur as regularly as appropriate and adjustments to ITST surveys made as required. Such updates should be communicated to all team members to ensure shared understanding and to reduce frustration to a minimum. 4 - In-country facilitation or support needs Host country contacts and the National Coordination Team should clearly explain what facilities and logistics are available to support the ITST and for how long. Explanation should be provided if for any reason, logistical support has to be redirected. Incoming ITST members should clearly define those facilities and logistics they need to facilitate their work. However, incoming scientists and experts are expected wherever possible to bring their own equipment. 5 - Media Interactions Meaningful interaction with host country media (and perhaps the international media) can be highly beneficial but can be tricky to negotiate and politically loaded. In broad terms, interaction with the media (detailed and/or short radio, television and newspaper interviews) can be helpful. Media coverage can help to facilitate access to regions that might not otherwise be available to survey teams. It is important to ensure communication with the media occurs as part of ITST ‘service’ to host countries and communities. Think about who fronts the media – their skill, comfort level, language capacity and cultural sensitivity. The ITST Coordinator might not be the best person. The whole team should consider discussing those issues they would like covered in media interviews and careful consideration should be given to the consistency of information provided. %?@AGZÜŻG = [ * 3 ¤ÜŻ0)~„óźóŽĪŽĆ»Ć©™©™Œ™©™Œ™Œ™©™©™Œ™ĆhĪ|3OJQJ\^JaJh·IłhĪ|3OJQJ\^JaJ"h·IłhĪ|35OJQJ\^JaJhĪ|3OJQJh·IłhĪ|3OJQJHhįņfhˆRd5OJQJh·IłhĪ|35OJQJhˆRd5OJQJh·IłhˆRd5OJQJ@AZ[j k F G < = [ ¤‚ƒ0-.()÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷ėėėėėėėėėėėėėėė÷÷÷ $7$8$H$a$gdĪ|3$a$gdĪ|3„ż)€‚ƒ„÷÷÷÷÷$a$gdĪ|3.:pĪ|3°|. °ČA!°"°# $ %°°Ä°Ä Ä†œ˜žžžžžžžž666666666vvvvvvvvv66666>666666666666666666666666666Ø6666666666ø666666666666hH66666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666°6@@ń’@ ":NNormalCJ_HaJmH sH tH DA@ņ’”D Default Paragraph FontRió’³R ½ Table Normalö4Ö l4Öaö (kō’Į( No List B'¢ńB ":N0Comment ReferenceCJaJ4@4 ":N Comment Text>žO¢> ":N Char Char1OJPJQJ^JD™"D ":N0 Balloon TextCJOJQJaJDž¢1D ":N0 Char CharCJOJPJQJ^JaJ„ ’’’’„@AZ[jkFG<=[ ¤‚ƒ 0 - . †l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬l ¬@AZ[jkFG<=[ ¤‚ƒ 0 - .
